When they the director Jon M Chu, brain behind all time classic Never Say Never, decides to make this a movie about the little robot synergy, and take the focus off the music, that’s where it felt like an awful movie. There wasn’t anything special about it, but there wasn’t anything horrible either. The band playing shows and dealing with the “machine”. I believe it was really true to life and that was the best part of this. I liked the music studio/ behind the scenes into what makes a hot marketable talent part of this movie. Story is simple enough, Jem is a shy girl so her sister Kimber uploads a video of her singing that gets in the hands of a studio executive and now she’s a star. They have good chemistry and they really do feel like a family. The acting is pretty good, especially for the four girls, Jem (Aubrey Peebles), Kimber (Stefanie Scott), Shana (Aurora Perrineau) and Aja (Hayley Kiyako). I’m surprised that I didn’t hate this movie. An “adaptation” of a TV show I didn’t watch hits theaters this week and I am definitely not the target audience. ![]() YouTube generation reunite, stop listening to the new Justin Bieber track and see YOUR movie.
